Major Phoenix Bus Service Changes Begin October 27 as Valley Metro Opens New Downtown Transit Hub

by

Valley Metro and the Phoenix Public Transit Department are rolling out major service updates starting Monday, October 27, 2025, aimed at improving connectivity and efficiency across the city’s transit network.

The changes coincide with the opening of the Greg Stanton Central Station, a key addition to downtown Phoenix’s expanding transportation system. The new hub will connect multiple bus and light rail routes, offering riders more direct access to major destinations throughout the Valley.

Among the most notable adjustments:

  • RAPID and Express routes serving downtown Phoenix will now be rerouted through the Downtown Phoenix Hub.

  • The new Greg Stanton Central Station will open, linking Routes 0, 1, 3, 7, 10, and the DASH circulator.

  • Several bus stops downtown will be relocated to streamline service and improve access between routes.

  • The Washington/Central Avenue light rail station will reopen for full service after construction closures.

  • The Paradise Valley Transit Center will move to a new site, affecting Routes 44 and 138.

City officials say the updates are part of a broader plan to modernize public transit and better integrate bus, light rail, and commuter services, especially following construction for the South Central Extension/Downtown Hub project.

Riders can view detailed maps and route updates at valleymetro.org/servicechanges. Valley Metro also encourages travelers to use its mobile app or online trip planner for real-time tracking and updated route information.

“These changes mark an important step toward a more connected and convenient transit system for Phoenix,” the transit department said in a statement.
