A road rage encounter escalated into a stabbing near Mesa’s Loop 202 Sunday afternoon, leaving one person injured and investigators working to piece together what happened.
Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers responded just before 1:30 p.m. after Mesa police reported a possible stabbing along the Loop 202 near Guadalupe Road. Investigators learned the confrontation began as a road rage dispute that turned physical near the Guadalupe Road offramp. During the altercation, one of the parties was stabbed.
The victim drove themselves to a nearby urgent care facility. The severity of their injuries has not been confirmed. It remains unclear whether the other individual involved has been taken into custody.
DPS is continuing to investigate the incident.
