Scottsdale residents looking to make a direct impact on their community now have the chance to do so. The city is inviting applications for several volunteer positions on its citizen boards, commissions, and committees—groups that play an essential role in shaping local policy and advising the City Council on key issues.
These positions offer residents an opportunity to influence decisions on everything from public amenities to economic development. Openings are currently available across a variety of advisory bodies, including the Building Advisory Board of Appeals, Human Relations Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Library Board.
Interested applicants must submit an online application by Friday, Feb. 20, according to the city. Once applications are reviewed, the City Council will select candidates for interviews and make final appointments in March. Those chosen will receive training and are expected to follow the city’s Ethics Code before beginning their service.
A full list of current openings includes positions on the Board of Adjustment, Industrial Development Authority, Tourism Development Commission, and Veterans Advisory Commission, among others.
Applications remain active for one year, giving residents multiple chances to be considered for future openings. More details on the responsibilities and goals of each group can be found on the City of Scottsdale’s Boards and Commissions page.
For residents ready to contribute their time and expertise, this is a chance to help guide the city’s progress and strengthen Scottsdale’s sense of community.
